Sophia Tarin is a poet, educator, librarian, and archivist dedicated to documenting, preserving, and making accessible the histories of creatives and their communities. Her professional experience includes positions at the New York Public Library, the Walt Whitman Birthplace Association, the Coney Island Museum, the Armour-Stiner Octagon House, and the Cold Spring Harbor Library & Environmental Center. Currently, she is completing a Master’s in History of Art and Design at Pratt Institute, where her thesis, titled “Femme Maison: Vanessa Bell’s Charleston,” explores the creative ecosystems cultivated by female artists in their residences, using Vanessa Bell’s home as a focal point. Tarin has taught writing courses at Adelphi University, and her poetry has appeared in various publications, including Funicular Magazine, Little Patuxent Review, Phantom Drift, and Des Pair Books.
